Epilogue: A Nightmare Experience with Mahikari

Distance-johrei.0

It’s now been a few years since the original incident I described in the first blog post “A Nightmare Experience with Mahikari”. A lot has happened in my spiritual life since then. But I’d like to share with you an insight I received not so very long ago. It helped me understand why that light session with Dojocho went so very wrong and has brought no end of grief to my life.

A lot of earnest, God-seeking kumite read this blog and react with disbelief. I know I would have done the same before any of this happened to me. Mahikari offers a very credible spiritual counterfeit. The deception is very subtle. I’ll save the explanation for another post, but you must understand that Mahikari is a counterfeit spiritual system. There are only two sides of the great spiritual conflict: good and bad, truth and deceit, light and darkness, authentic and counterfeit. Only two sides.

The only authentic spiritual system is Christianity as described in the Bible. That system describes: God, the laws of the Kingdom of Heaven, God’s Plan of Salvation for humanity, His Son Jesus Christ (“the only name given to men whereby we may be saved”), and how we are to worship Him. Every other spiritual system and system of worship is a part of the kingdom of darkness, no matter how pure and holy it may seem. “For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect” (Matthew 24:24).

At Mahikari, the one receiving worship is not the one true God, but rather Satan and his fallen angels. In every system of satanic worship – however veiled it may be – there is a requirement to perform human sacrifice. In order to preserve their evil powers (such as the power to invoke spirits, perform magic or witchcraft, levitate, etc.) the leaders of the spiritual system must offer human sacrifices. Why? Because the source of those powers is demonic. It is demons who provide those abilities, and they must be “paid” in human lives in order to deliver their services. This is a well-known fact among satanists, witches, and other evil agents. The human sacrifice required doesn’t always entail death, although often it does. This is why the hospital system is so infiltrated by workers of darkness and there are so many unexplained deaths. It’s an easy place to terminate weak and vulnerable victims and thus satisfy demons’ requirements. In certain cases the sacrifice is possession: the person who wishes to preserve his or her evil powers offers up another person to be possessed by a demon. Sadly the victims of possession are often children, and their condition is diagnosed as some form of autism when in fact it’s demonic possession. (I personally know of three such cases).

Well, this is what happened to me on that tragic morning when I went for my light session with Dojocho. It took me a long time to put two and two together, but I ultimately realized that he had offered me up as a sacrifice. That’s the reason why the evil spirit entered me, to take possession. Dojocho knew exactly what he was doing and what spirit he was invoking. Clearly this is not a frequent occurrence, only a few people out of hundreds of kumite might be singled out. Many won’t ever realize what happened, and they’ll soon die of some natural condition or unexpected accident. In my case that demon clearly had an assignment to make me die of a terrible illness. The pain, discomfort and other symptoms I felt were very real. I went for lots of medical tests and the doctors couldn’t find any physical cause. Nevertheless what I was experiencing was terribly real. At the time I happened to be in a short video and for a fleeting moment on the screen you could see a dark shadow upon me. Sometimes a camera captures things the human eye can’t see. The video sequence was too brief for anyone else to notice but I noticed it and was even more frightened.

After a few months of dealing with this dark spirit it left, only to return six months later and having to battle with it again. More recently – that is to say last fall – another Mahikari spirit came to oppress and torment me for a number of months.

Satan and his fallen angels don’t give up easily. All of this trial and tribulation happened because I had been engaged in Mahikari practices for nearly five years, and Satan doesn’t let his prey go so easily. But today my God – the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob – protects me. Although He allows some of this persecution to happen He will not allow my enemies to hurt me or prevail against me. As a good Father He wants me to learn my lesson and never forget it! But He sets the limits and tells the enemy “This far and no farther”. Because today I’m walking with the Lord, I have nothing to fear: He surrounds me with His hedge of protection.

Psalm 23:4-6 says:

“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord
Forever.”

There is safety when we walk with the Lord. We must never stray from His side.

“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.”

Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler                                   and from the perilous pestilence.
He shall cover you with His feathers,
And under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,
Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.

A thousand may fall at your side,
And ten thousand at your right hand;
But it shall not come near you.
Only with your eyes shall you look,
And see the reward of the wicked.

Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge,
Even the Most High, your dwelling place,
10 No evil shall befall you,
Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
11 For He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you in all your ways.
12 In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.
13 You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra,
The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.

14 “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him,
And show him My salvation.” (Psalm 91)

What’s wrong with the ancestor altar?

Mahikari ancestor altar

I often get this question from Mahikari kumite: “What’s wrong with the ancestor altar? It’s a privilege to have one and it has brought many blessings into my life. I’m just feeding them, I’m not worshipping them!”

First of all, let’s clarify that what happens at the ancestor altar is worship, whether you like to admit it or not. Whenever you erect an altar to something, whatever that may be, you are worshipping that thing. Kumites who have an altar in their home bow and make reverence before the altar. When you bring food and drink to an altar, you are making an offering. This is another form or rite of worship.

When you do these things, you are clearly not worshipping the only true and living God, the God of the Bible, the God of Israel. You are therefore in violation of the First Commandment of the Law of God “You shall have no other god before me”.

The Mahikari teachings at the first level of initiation are that ancestor spirits need to receive light to cleanse their spiritual impurities and to bring them into harmony with the Mahikari god. They also teach that these spirits of the dead may receive work assignments as a form of spiritual discipline to purge impurities and that they experience thirst and hunger and need to be fed and given water.

The first response to this is that the Bible is very clear about the state of the dead. When a soul dies, that’s it. It’s over. The dead are in a state of “sleep” or “unconsciousness”. Ecclesiastes 9:5-6,10 states: For the living know that they will die; but the dead know nothing, and they have no more reward, for the memory of them is forgotten. Also their love, their hatred, and their envy have now perished; nevermore will they have a share
In anything done under the sun. … Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going.”

We all have until our death to come to God and to “clean up our spiritual act”. Once we die, the game is over. No amount of prayer, chanting or okiyome can remove that person’s spiritual impurities that they committed during their lifetime as we learn from Ecclesiastes 12:6: “Remember your Creator before the silver cord is loosed, or the golden bowl is broken, or the pitcher shattered at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the well. Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it.”

Remember that in the Book of Genesis God formed man from the dust of the earth, and breathed His spirit into man to give him life. When a man dies, his body becomes dust again and his spirit returns to God according to Ecclesiastes 12:7: “Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it.”

Any repentance or reconciliation with our Creator and any good works must be done before we die, afterwards it’ll be too late. Our works that we did while we were living have been recorded in the books. The books shall be opened at the end of time when we come before God in judgment (as described in Daniel 7:9-10). Jesus is coming back soon to reward each one according to his works (Revelation 22:12).

It is a false teaching – completely unbiblical – that the human soul is immortal and goes through successive reincarnations to attain higher levels of spiritual evolution. The Bible says in 1 Timothy 6:15-16 that God alone is immortal. “The soul that sins it shall die” (Ezekiel 18:20). We’re all sinners; therefore we all die. The teaching that the soul is immortal is one of the oldest lies, told by Satan to Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden when he said to them “You shall not surely die” after God had told them “You will surely die”.

Initially this teaching about man’s mortal soul was one of the hardest for me to accept because the lie was so deeply ingrained in me. But now I understand that this one deception has opened the way for many abominations before God, such as necromancy or the calling upon the dead for guidance, ancestor worship, and others. The immortality of the soul is a basic tenet of all pagan or heathen religions that do not worship the God of Israel. False prophets and false teachers who teach spiritual deception shall come before God in judgment.

The question then becomes, if the ancestor altar is not being visited by ancestor spirits, who then is visiting it? The answer is, Satan’s fallen angels, demons who like Satan are thirsty for worship and can only secure it through deception. When you erect an ancestor altar in your home, you are worshipping demons and inviting them into your home and your life.

Babylonian Roots of Omitama – the Sun Disk

In the Bible, the city of Babylon has its roots in the Tower of Babel.  After the flood, when the earth was washed clean of sin, man once again became prideful and arrogant against God.  They tried to build a tower that would reach into Heaven so that they could escape God’s wrath and be free to sin without punishment – this way if God sent another flood they would climb higher than the waters.  The story of the Tower of Babel is found in Genesis 11 (King James Version):

1 And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.

And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.

And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter.

And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.

And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.

And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.

Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.

So the Lord scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.

Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the Lord did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the Lord scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.”

Whenever the Bible refers to Babylon, it associates that city with confusion, especially spiritual confusion.  Because the Babylonians worshipped primarily the sun, Bible references to Babylon also associate it with false worship, false religion and false doctrine.  Babylon is also considered to be the mother all kinds of spiritual “abominations” in the eyes of God: magic, divination, astrology, numerology, demon worship, human sacrifice, etc.

Babylon was a center of sun worship in the ancient world.  Sun worship – which had originated in Egypt before Babylon – became widespread in antiquity.  Pagan religions were very strong.  They surrounded the children of Israel and needed to be driven from the Promised Land.  Unfortunately, the Israelis compromised and allowed many of those peoples to remain inside their borders.  This ultimately led to the people of Israel being so corrupted from inside their own land that they ended up being taken into captivity to Babylon itself under King Nebuchadnezzar.

The history of the Israeli infiltration by paganism is a precursor of what happened in Europe under the Roman Empire.  Emperor Constantine, needing to blend or harmonize Christianity with paganism to integrate the Roman Empire into a cohesive whole, established Christianity as the official religion of Rome but merged into it numerous doctrines and practices from paganism.  This is how Christmas began to be celebrated within the Church.  Other visible changes were the change of the day of worship from Saturday to Sunday as well as changes to God’s Ten Commandments.  Paganism, essentially centered on sun worship, perverted many of the authentic Christian doctrines and practices.  In particular, idolatry – the worship of images and statues which is forbidden in God’s Ten Commandments – became embedded in the Roman Catholic tradition.  This is evidenced in the purported “halos” which adorn the representations of the heads of the saints, the Virgin Mary and the child Jesus.  These golden disks around their heads are not halos as we are led to believe, but sun disks, in honor of the sun deity.  Sun worship is also the reason why the eucharist which the Catholic priest holds up when he officiates communion is a perfectly round disk.

Fast forward to Sukyo Mahikari and Omitama.  Interesting that their “sacred talisman” is in fact a golden sun disk!  Interesting that kumites wear it around their necks, an object they think is chained to them but in reality they are chained/bound to it.  (It’s much easier to enter Mahikari than to leave!).  Interesting that they teach that if you are not wearing Omitama you do not have divine protection.  I believe that what is behind Sukyo Mahikari is sun worship in disguise.  I believe that kumites are deceived: the divine light they believe they are giving and receiving is no more and no less than a representation of the sun’s rays, which in all pagan traditions is considered to be the life-giving god, source of nourishment and healing.  I believe that the fear associated with not wearing Omitama is the fear associated with magic talismans, where the devotee loses his/her protection from evil spirits if the talisman is removed.  This type of fear is grounded in magic and false worship, not in true religion.  And who are these evil spirits if not demons?

The fallen angels who rebelled against the God of Israel, the God of Heaven and Earth and His Son Jesus Christ, are demons.  They have been on this earth since its beginning 6000 years ago.  Their agenda is to divert true worship away from the real God and to institute false worship so as to receive worship in His stead.  They will use any form of deceit to implement their evil agenda.

The roots of Babylon are present in all false religions, ancient and modern.  Mahikari is a false religion of our contemporary world, yet is deeply grounded in Babylonian tradition.   Sadly, Kumite are not worshipping the real God, they are worshipping a counterfeit god.  This is sad because many Kumite are earnest God seekers who have been misled.

In the endtime, the final great conflict that will bring earth’s history to a close revolves around true versus false worship.  The Bible, in the Book of Revelation, has countless references to the issue of worship.  In Chapter 13, it describes false worship, i.e. worship of Satan (the dragon) disguised as the beast:

  • And they worshipped the dragon (Satan) which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? Rev. 13:4
  • And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him (the devil), whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.  Rev. 13:8
  • And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. Rev. 13:12
  • And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
Rev. 13:15

In Revelation Chapter 14:6-12, the Three Angels’ Messages point us to true worship as we worship God, the Creator of Heaven and of Earth, and nothing or no one else (not the sun, which is a creation of the Creator).

And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,

Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. (Note: Babylon = Rome and/or any other system of false worship or false religion)

And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,

10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

Kumite, this is what the Lord God of Heaven and of Earth is saying to you:

And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her (Babylon), my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.  Rev. 18:4

More on right vs. left

Tags

, , , , ,

As I was reading my bible this past week I came across a couple of passages which highlight the importance and the meaning of the right vs. the left.  For example, in chapter 29 of the Book of Exodus, God gives Moses very specific instructions for the consecration of Aaron and his sons to be priests officiating in God’s sanctuary and tabernacle.  Below is an excerpt:

“You shall also take the other ram, and Aaron and his sons shall put their hands on the head of the ram.  Then you shall kill the ram, and take some of its blood and put it on the tip of the right ear of Aaron and on the tip of the right ear of his sons, on the thumb of their right hand and on the big toe of their right foot, and sprinkle the blood all around on the altar. And you shall take some of the blood that is on the altar, and some of the anointing oil, and sprinkle it on Aaron and on his garments, on his sons and on the garments of his sons with him; and he and his garments shall be hallowed, and his sons and his sons’ garments with him.”  Exodus 29:19-21

The consecration of Aaron and his sons is consumated in the Book of Leviticus, where we read a similar account:

“Then Aaron and his sons laid their hands on the head of the ram,  and Moses killed it. Also he took some of its blood and put it on the tip of Aaron’s right ear, on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot Then he brought Aaron’s sons. And Moses put some of the blood on the tips of their right ears, on the thumbs of their right hands, and on the big toes of their right feet. And Moses sprinkled the blood all around on the altar.”  Leviticus 8:23-24

Why is this significant with regard to Mahikari?  As I wrote in an earlier post, when receiving okiyome the kumite must place his/her hands in prayer and very deliberately place the left thumb over the right one.  When kneeling in prayer before the altar or to give okiyome the big toe of the left foot must be crossed over the right foot.  Is this a coincidence or perhaps the result of some Japanese cultural influence?  I don’t think so.  What I have observed since I left Mahikari is that Satan seeks to contradict God in even the smallest details.  For each one of God’s laws, truths and symbols, Satan has at least one (and sometimes several) counterfeits.  This detail of the left thumb and the left big toe is an evil counterfeit of the symbolism that God established for His holy sanctuary.

The hidden signs

I had been seriously seeking God for over 5 years when a friend of mine brought me to Mahikari.  I came to the dojo many times to receive the light before deciding to become an initiate and receive omitama.  After a couple of years of practice, I was very committed, and thought Mahikari would be my spiritual path for life.  How deceived I was!  Little did I know of their practices and teachings, of which the Level 1 initiates are for the most part in ignorance.  I’d even traveled to the world temple in Japan (Takayama) and been on all the kumite tours, including the tower where Oshienushisama lives.  All seemed perfectly bona fide.  Unfortunately, spiritual truths are spiritually discerned, and at the time my spiritual eyes were closed.

There are actually some very telltale signs in Mahikari practices which give away the truth, if only our spiritual eyes were open!  In every religion symbols are extremely important and always convey meaning.  In other words, they are never coincidences but careful and deliberate choices.  Firstly, the insistence upon the left thumb being over the right thumb when hands are joined in prayer, as well as the big toe of the left foot being over the right foot when kneeling.  I know many readers might be skeptical, but I learned the hard way that instead of saying “spiritual world over physical/material world”, as Mahikari claims, this actually means the evil side over the good side (Jesus Christ sitting at the right hand of the Father).  Secondly, the way in which kumite are instructed to wear omitama is very telling:  they wear a chain around their necks.  This is the only acceptable way to wear omitama.  Scary symbolism: they are bound and chained.  Easy to get in, oh so difficult and painful to get out!   Thirdly, I was struck by the teaching of the “48 gods”.  Satan is always trying to imitate or outdo God, whose heavenly throne is surrounded by 24 elders – the devil just doubled the number.

There’s one additional thing which should’ve raised big red flags with me had I known at the time: many kumite had mentioned to me having seen Odairisama officiate in a Mahikari ceremony, and that he always seemed to float in the air, his feet never touching the ground.  Only about a year ago did I learn that levitation is satanic, that without exception this is a sign of the devil.  Those who have ears to hear, let them hear.

I’d like to ask all Mahikari kumite and leadership to please abstain from posting on this blog and use your own internet real estate to express your views.  You’ve put out a lot of favorable propaganda for your sect, and many innocent spiritual seekers are being deceived and led onto that path.  I wish to reserve this blog for other disappointed ex-kumite who’d like to share their experiences with the rest of the world.  I do not wish to debate with anyone who’s pro-Mahikari, simply to share my personal experience and insights with regard to this false religion to other truth-seekers.

Why Is This Important?

We are in the final days.  As such, the spiritual warfare between the kingdom of true light and the kingdom of darkness is intensifying.  Satan knows that he is defeated.  His goal is to take down with him as many of God’s children as he possibly can.

Satan is using every weapon at his disposal to deceive – even deceive God’s elect if that were possible.  Some of the other anti-Mahikari blogs expose the web of lies surrounding Sukuinushisama’s supposed revelations.  Lying is one of Satan’s favorite methods, especially using half-truths to confuse the innocent.

The people who come to Mahikari are good people.  People looking for God and wanting to serve Him.  And we have been deceived, with every disenchanted Mahikari kumite having lost a few feathers in the process.  Don’t waste one more day of your life working for the wrong cause.  Find a good Bible-based church and start studying the Word of God – the real God – and start walking with Him now.

Spiritual Truths

Spiritual Truths

Jesus Christ

When I first became initiated into Mahikari I’d told my friends: “This is for the rest of my life.”  I’d been longing to find a true spiritual path in which to serve God, and thought I had found it.  But “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death” (Proverbs 14:12 and 16:25).

It took many months of intense Bible study to understand this whole traumatic experience.  I now know and trust that Jesus is our divine ffresh, will be healed and sealed with His blood.  I’d like to share with you the spiritual truths I’ve learned as a result of this experience.

As God Himself said: “My people perish for lack of knowledge”.  Hosea 4:6

Spiritual Truth No. 1:  The God of Israel (God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob) is the ONLY REAL AND LIVING GOD.   God became flesh in Jesus Christ and sent the Holy Spirit to be upon the earth to be with us after Jesus ascended to Heaven.  This is the Holy Trinity: ONE God that is Father, Son and Holy Ghost.  There is no other God besides Him.  Mahikari teachings about the existence of many Gods in the spiritual realm (I believe they claim 48?) are false teachings about false gods.

Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel, and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts; ‘I am the First and I am the Last; besides Me there is no God”.  Isaiah 44:6

How great you are, Sovereign LORD! There is no one like you, and there is no God but you, as we have heard with our own ears.  2 Samuel 7:22

They sacrificed unto devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not. Deuteronomy 32:17

And ye shall overthrow their altars, and break their pillars, and burn their groves with fire; and ye shall hew down the graven images of their gods, and destroy the names of them out of that place.  Deuteronomy 12:3

Spiritual Truth No. 2:  Because the price of sin is death, God the Father gave up His Son Jesus so that He would take upon Himself our sins and pay for them on the cross.  This is why Jesus said, “No one shall come to the Father except through Me”.  All men have a sinful nature.  Therefore we all need the grace and the blood of Jesus to attain salvation for our souls.    The light of Mahikari cannot cleanse our souls of sin (‘spiritual impurities’ in Mahikari language), only Jesus Christ can save our souls. Mahikari is not a path that leads to salvation.  Therefore, to be saved, we must accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.

That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.  Romans 10:9

Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake.  John 14:11

Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.  1 John 2:23

I and My Father are one.  John 10:30

Spiritual Truth No. 3:  The Bible is very clear that when we worship other gods (such as god su, the god of Sukyo Mahikari) we sin and are separated from the real God.  As a result, we set ourselves OUTSIDE of God’s hedge of protection, and bad things can happen to us.  This is what happened to me.

Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise.  Deuteronomy 12:30

And they forsook the LORD God of their fathers, which brought them out of the land of Egypt, and followed other gods, of the gods of the people that were round about them, and bowed themselves unto them, and provoked the LORD to anger.  Judges 2:12

Spiritual Truth No. 4:  The Bible is not just any wisdom book.  The Bible is the Word of God.  The Word of God carries great spiritual power: it “consumes like fire”, “breaks the rock of most stubborn resistance”, and “never returns void – it always prospers in that into which it is sent”.   Everything the Bible says is true.  And the only way out of any tight corner in our lives – or from any great affliction – is through praying the Word of God.  His promises are everlasting.

He sent them His Word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.  Psalm 107:20

For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power; it is sharper than any two-edged sword….  Hebrews 4:12

Indeed, I have spoken it.  I will also bring it to pass.  I have purposed it; I will also do it.  Isaiah 46:11

Then the Lord said to me, You have seen well, for I am ready to perform My Word.  Jeremiah 1:13

Spiritual Truth No. 5:  The Bible says that we should not bow, kneel or worship at other altars that are not dedicated to the living God.  Therefore, Mahikari ancestor altars are sinful in God’s eyes, because they are dedicated to spirits other than Him.

But ye shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their groves.  Exodus 34:13

For he took away the altars of the strange gods, and the high places, and brake down the images, and cut down the groves.  2 Chronicles 14:3

And he shall not look to the altars, the work of his hands, neither shall respect that which his fingers have made, either the groves, or the images.  Isaiah 17:8

Their heart is divided; now shall they be found faulty: he shall break down their altars, he shall spoil their images.  Hosea 10:2

Spiritual Truth No. 6:  The Bible is very clear about spirits of the dead.  Yes, this is one area of biblical truth that is largely misunderstood, even by many Christians.  According to the Bible:  “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living being.”  Genesis 2:7.  When we die, the dust goes back to the dust, and the breath of God returns to Him.  Therefore what many people consider being the soul, i.e. the “spiritual component” of a human being, does not live on after the death of that human being.  Biblical scripture contradicts many commonly held “false doctrines” about the immortality of the soul, and therefore about ancestor spirits.

If this is so, who then was this spirit that harassed me?  And who are the ancestor spirits that Mahikari initiates venerate and lift up altars to?   They are demons, because as we have seen the souls of dead people are put to rest and do not “float around”.  Demons are fallen angels who followed Satan when he rebelled against God.  Demons study our bloodline and take on the form of familiar spirits, spirits of people that we knew.  Invoking familiar spirits as certain Mahikari leaders do – like the dojo leader who got me into all this trouble – is an abomination in God’s eyes.  It is also extremely dangerous, because no one except Jesus Christ Himself has authority over demons.

Give no regard to mediums and familiar spirits; do not seek after them, to be defiled by them.  I am the Lord your God.  Leviticus 19:31

For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.  Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.  2 Corinthians 11: 14-15

There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or one who calls up the dead.  For all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord, and because of these abominations the Lord your God drives them out from before you.  Deuteronomy 18: 10-12

Spiritual Truth No. 7:  Sukiunushisama has a number of false teachings about Jesus, teachings that are not confirmed by the Bible, the ONLY authority on Christ Jesus.  Sukiunushisama also claims to be the messiah.  Any person claiming to be the messiah is an anti-Christ.  There is only one Messiah, and that is Jesus.

Little children, it is the last hour.  And as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour.  1 John 2:18

Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ?  He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son.  1 John 2:22

And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.  Matthew 24:11

For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.  Matthew 24:24

But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.  2 Peter 2:1

Spiritual Truth No. 8:  Mahikari is a false religion.  Metaphorically speaking, the spiritual world is ‘black and white’, good or evil.  There are no gray areas.  You’re either on the side of the living God Jesus Christ, or you’re against Him.  Claiming to be the messiah, Sukuinushisama and his followers are against the living God.  Therefore, they’re on the side of the evil one. Their practices are against the law of God.  Jesus said “He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters abroad’.

Both angels and demons inhabit the spiritual realm.  Angels are spirits of light that serve the living God.  Demons are fallen angels that followed Satan and obey him.  Because Mahikari is not a spiritual path that leads to the real living God, it attracts those evil spirits that are in the spiritual realm. The only goal of demons is to torment, shame and disgrace us.  They seek to destroy us mentally, physically and spiritually and they will persist until they reach their goal.  During His days on the earth Jesus cast out many demons that were causing mental and physical illness in the people.

The thief (the devil) does not come except to steak, and to kill, and to destroy.  I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.  John 10:10

And He cast out the spirits with a word…  Matthew 8:15

What should be your next step?

If like me you repent of your wrong choice and come to Jesus, He will joyfully forgive you and translate your soul into the true kingdom of light.  He is a compassionate and merciful God.  Like the father welcomed back the prodigal son, Jesus will welcome you back and will not remember your sin.

If you are currently involved with Mahikari, I strongly encourage you to return your omitama to the dojo and leave.  Accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior.  Renounce and denounce any ties you may have had with Sukyo Mahikari.  Pray and ask the Lord to sever any ties in the spiritual and physical realms that have bound you to Mahikari through financial offerings and donations, through their teachings, through the practice of okiyome, and through wearing omitama.  If your prayer is sincere the Lord will totally deliver you.  He did it for me, and He’ll do it for you.  Find a good Bible-based church in your area where you can study God’s Word and join in worship with other fellow Christians.   It’s very important to get baptized for the forgiveness of sins, and to proclaim publicly that you belong to Jesus.

I wish you a wonderful new beginning in Christ!

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.  Old things have passed away.  Behold, all things have become new.  2 Corinthians 5:17

Nightmare experience as a Sukyo Mahikari kumite (initiate)

My objective with this blog page is to share with you my personal nightmare as an ex-Mahikari member and hopefully to help you see the spiritual truth about this group.

I joined Mahikari in 2005, after receiving the light on (practicing okiyome in Mahikari language) average twice a week for about 5 months.  After being initiated into Mahikari and receiving omitama in the last quarter of 2005, I continued attending the dojo regularly.  Like all new initiates are encouraged to do, I would invite friends and acquaintances to come to the dojo to receive the light or attend the initiation training.  I did not succeed in guiding anyone to the point where they would join.

My tenure in Mahikari was fairly uneventful until the time when our European leader was replaced by a Japanese one.  The teachings about ancestor spirits and other spirits increased in intensity, and I was often asked whether I had installed an ancestor altar in my home.  This is a pre-requisite to moving on to the 2nd. level of initiation.

The whole concept of the ancestor altar made me very uncomfortable.  I had been to a few kumite homes where there was an ancestor altar, and I truthfully did not want one in my home.  Through some sixth sense I could feel the presence of spirits in those homes and it made me uneasy.  I also did not want the responsibility of the rituals associated with those altars, such as feeding the ancestor spirits every day.  Afterwards I was to understand what was wrong with those altars.

Then, something very unexpected happened that shattered my whole world:

Our Japanese leader (dojocho) had requested to meet every kumite in our dojo to become more acquainted with us and to also transmit the light, through us, to our ancestors’ souls.  This was intended to help elevate their souls and cleanse their sins.  I signed up on the schedule and had my first meeting with him, where he interrogated me at length about my ancestors, in particular my father who’d been diseased for 10 years.  During that first session he also traced my family tree.  The time was up so we scheduled a second session about 2 – 3 weeks later

I showed up for my session as agreed.  Dojocho said he would give me okiyome in the 8th. point (the forehead) and that I should do everything he instructed me to do.  I closed my eyes and after reading the prayer he started giving me the light.  I’d been told that this okiyome session would be longer than the normal 10 minutes for the forehead, so I was not surprised that it went on for a while, possibly 15 – 20 minutes.  After having recited the Kami Muki Sanji (the name of that prayer which talks about the spirit world) dojocho started invoking my father’s spirit.   When I had agreed to the session I had not realized that he would be speaking to ancestor spirits.  This was a surprise to me, but obediently I sat there with my eyes closed as he gave me the light.  He also instructed me to start breathing deeply to breathe in the light, which I also did.

All of a sudden, I felt a very dark and evil presence in the room.  I was terrified, but didn’t dare move, and before I could do anything I felt this presence come inside me.

Shortly afterwards, dojocho ended the session.  I let him know what had happened, but he didn’t believe me.  I went home, a nervous wreck, anguished, confused, feeling totally violated and betrayed by our spiritual leader.

Not quite knowing where to turn, I spoke to a woman kumite whom I admired for her devotion and good heart.  She also didn’t know what to say, except to suggest that I go back to dojocho so that he could help me.  I returned to see dojocho later that week.  He was with one of his Japanese assistants, and they were both very cold and dismissive.  They said that if anything had happened it was due to my bad karma.  In other words it was my fault and not theirs.  Dojocho said:  “You came to me, I did not come to you”.

The following week, in great distress, that dark presence still inside me, I travelled to see our previous dojo leader, the one who’d initiated me, who now headed up another dojo.  I hoped she would be able to help me by sending this spirit back to wherever it had come from.  She said to me, “I’m sorry, I don’t deal with spirits so I can’t really help you, all I can do is pray with you and give you the light”.

At this point I was still going to Mahikari, wanting to believe that this was a fluke, even my bad karma, and that if I received enough light this dark spirit would lift and leave.  I was hardly sleeping because having that presence inside me did not allow me to sleep or relax.  I lost a lot of weight, looked terrible, was totally depressed and anxious, and had a hard time focusing at work. Throughout this whole process, God (the REAL living God, not the Mahikari proclaimed god) protected me mightily so that I could still function despite the physical pain.  I had terrible abdominal pain, and underwent many medical exams including a colonoscopy that thankfully all came out negative.

I’m purposely not recounting all the details of the story, and will fast-forward to the unfolding.

After about two and a half months of this continuous agony, after asking around in different spiritual circles, I found a woman shaman who was able to get rid of the spirit, at least momentarily.  I was able to sleep, eat and live normally.  But the respite turned out to be only temporary.  Three months later, that dark spirit came back, with other evil spirits.  They haunted my house with noises and “voices”, moving objects, and their dark presence was very tangible.  The one that had originally attached itself to me managed to do so again.  So once more I found myself with the abdominal pains, the accelerated heartbeat, and other uncomfortable physical symptoms.  My balance also was affected, I found myself tipping to one side or another and needed to be very careful when I exercised or walked my dog.

At this point, I still didn’t completely understand what was going on, but obviously it was something quite serious.

Not being able to stay in my apartment for their harassment, I gave up my lease, and started living in temporary furnished housing.  Despite my move, the problem persisted and the spirits (although not all of them, possibly a couple) followed me.  My faith in Mahikari was shattered, and I felt extremely uncomfortable and afraid the few times I returned to the dojo.  Nevertheless I once more pleaded with dojocho if he would help me.   He was extremely rude.  In front of some of the other leaders who were in the leadership office he said to me loudly and angrily “I have no time for you”.  I believe the other Dojocho had reported on the incident, and my behavior did not fit well with Japanese hierarchical obedience.  Into my second month of “nomadic” living, going from one temporary apartment to another, I finally summoned up the courage to return to the dojo and hand back my omitama.  I’d hesitated for fear of the consequences, but at that point I had nothing to lose!

Five months after these spirits had come upon me (with the returning ancestor spirit) another shaman woman was able to send them back to where they’d come from.  Again, this was only a temporary solution; the problem persisted and in fact got worse.  I’d now been dealing with this problem for two years!

Finding deliverance

During this time I’d relocated to the Bible belt of the United States.  One day, the burden of my problems with these evil spirits felt so heavy and oppressive, that during a phone conversation I let one of my cousins know what was troubling me.  He immediately said, “You’ve come to the right place.  Jesus Christ is the only one who can help you”.  My soul was ready for Jesus!  After all this hopelessness I felt hope again.   For the first time in my life I opened my heart to Jesus Christ.

After a couple of false starts, I found the right church to worship Christ and find deliverance from the demons.  Through fervent prayer and fasting, the Holy Spirit guided me very clearly to the church where He wanted me to serve God.   I got baptized, and surrendered my life to Jesus.  In His everlasting mercy I’ve been totally and completely delivered from all evil spirits.  My deliverance is permanent and definitive.
